Minh Ta serves as Vice President for Global Government Affairs and advises Carlyle teams and portfolio companies on the U.S. government’s legislative and regulatory activities. He is based in Washington, DC.
Mr. Ta most recently served as Chief of Staff to Delaware Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester. Before joining Rep. Blunt Rochester’s staff in 2017, Minh served as Wisconsin Congresswoman Gwen Moore’s chief of staff for five and half years and worked for Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison as his Legislative Director for more than four years. During his 12-year tenure on Capitol Hill, Minh worked on a range of policy issues, from the reauthorization of the Export Import Bank to the Violence Against Women Act.
Prior to coming to Capitol Hill, Mr. Ta worked as an Associate for the Center for the Study of Social Policy, a research and policy think-tank based in Washington, DC, where he focused on working with states to enact key policies and laws to strengthen the well-being of low-income children and families. He also served as the Public Policy Director for the Children’s Defense Fund office in Minnesota.
Mr. Ta holds an MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and BA from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN.
