Tech Councils Honor Local Chief Financial Officers

Herndon, VA - At a banquet of more than 780 financial professionals last night co-hosted by the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Tech Council of Maryland with participation from the DC Tech Council, winners were announced for the 2005 Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards. Now in its ninth year, the prestigious awards recognize chief financial officers for extraordinary achievement and excellence in promoting the development of the Greater Washington region's technology community.


"The winners recognized tonight are gifted financial executives and outstanding representatives of the Greater Washington technology community," said Bobbie Kilberg, President of NVTC. "Our region continues to set the standard for global technology excellence and each of our finalists and winners have set that standard of excellence in the financial arena."


An independent panel of community leaders selected winners for each of the following five categories: Public Company CFO of the Year, Private Company CFO of the Year, Financier of the Year, Community Service Award, and the Michael G. Devine Hall of Fame Award.


"The country looks to our region as a financial power center for technology," said Julie Coons, President of the Tech Council of Maryland. "Tonight's winners can be proud that their accomplishments help this region continue to be among the nation's leading technology productivity centers."


Brian Hayhurst, The Carlyle Group, was named Financier of the Year. This award is presented to a venture capitalist, investment, merchant or commercial banker who has contributed to the economic development of the Greater Washington region's technology community. The other finalist for this award was: Roger Novak, Novak Biddle Venture Partners.
