SemGroup Gains Regional Petroleum Marketer - SemGroup Acquires Halron Oil Company Fuels Business

Tulsa, OK- SemFuel, L.P. announced today its purchase of the fuel business of Halron Oil Company, Inc., one of the largest independent petroleum marketers in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Halron's fuel business assets include terminals with 290,000 barrels of refined product storage; nine branded diesel fueling facilities in five cities; a fleet of transports; a marine refueling terminal in Michigan; and five bulk plant facilities in Wisconsin and Michigan with a total capacity of 20,000 barrels. The company employs more than 70. Terms of the sale were not released.

Halron was founded in 1927 when L.F. Halron began delivering kerosene by horse and buggy for heat and lanterns to customers in the Green Bay, Wisconsin, area. Today it distributes a variety of products, including fuel oil, diesel fuel, aviation fuel and gasoline. The company's main office is located in Green Bay, with satellite offices in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and Escanaba, Michigan. All Halron terminals – Green Bay and Wisconsin Rapids in Wisconsin, and Escanaba and Rogers City in Michigan – are included in the sale to SemFuel. The Halron Motor Oil Division is not affected by the sale and will continue under Halron family management.
