SemCanada's Purchase of Central Alberta Midstream Complete

Tulsa, OK - SemCanada, L.P., a wholly owned subsidiary of SemGroup, L.P., announced today the completion of its acquisition of Central Alberta Midstream (Central) from BP Canada Energy Company and Chevron Canada Resources, Canadian subsidiary of ChevronTexaco Corp. The purchase price was not disclosed. The definitive purchase and sale agreement was previously announced January 20, 2005.


Based in Calgary, Alberta, Central’s assets include four gas processing plants and more than 600 miles of natural gas gathering pipeline in Alberta. The company employs an office and field staff of about 260. Central provides an integrated gathering and processing service with several options for wet or dry, sweet or sour gas gathering and processing, as well as dehydration, field compression, liquid recovery and sulfur forming and handling.
