Scott Parker Named to the Board of Directors of InteliStaf Healthcare; Former President of Intermountain Health Care Has 44 Years of Industry Experience

Oakbrook Terrace, IL – InteliStaf Healthcare, a healthcare staffing company, yesterday named Scott S. Parker to its Board of Directors. Mr. Parker, who was inducted into the National Health Care Hall of Fame in 2005, brings 44 years of healthcare industry experience to the position. Global private equity firm The Carlyle Group is a majority investor in InteliStaf.

Mr. Parker is President Emeritus of Intermountain Health Care (IHC), a non-profit integrated healthcare system in Utah and Idaho, consisting of 22 hospitals, 100 health centers, a home health agency and more than 2,000 affiliated physicians. He served as President of IHC from 1975 until his retirement in 1998. During his tenure as President, IHC increased the number of hospitals in the system from 15 to 22, created a health insurance company which now enrolls approximately 50 percent of Utah residents, and organized a medical group that employs more than 400 physicians. During four of the past five years, IHC has been named the #1 integrated healthcare organization in the U.S. by Modern Healthcare magazine.


Prior to joining IHC, Mr. Parker served in several healthcare administrative positions including: Administrator of Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, CA; Vice President of Samaritan Health Services and Administrator of Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ; Administrator for Southside Hospital in Mesa, AZ; and Assistant Administrator at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.


Mr. Parker is a Member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, past President of the International Hospital Federation and is past Chairman of the American Hospital Association.


Mr. Parker earned his Master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. He serves on the Board of Directors of Huntsman Cancer Foundation and is on the Board of Trustees of the University of Utah and the National Advisory Board of the University of Utah’s Eccles School of Business.
