Comark Building Systems Names Robert Walker to Board of Directors and Michael Duffy as Vice President of Federal Government Services

DeSoto, TX – Comark Building Systems, Inc. today announced that it named the Honorable Robert M. (Mike) Walker to its Board of Directors and named Michael E. Duffy, PE, Esq., LEED® Accredited Professional, as Vice President of Federal Government Services.

In his capacity as Board Director, Mr. Walker will advise the firm on business strategy, particularly in expanding business in the government sector. As Vice President of Federal Government Services, Mr. Duffy will develop corporate strategy and lead the company’s efforts with federal government clients.


Robert M. (Mike) Walker
Robert M. (Mike) Walker is Senior Vice President of Plexus Scientific Corporation, a management and engineering consulting firm in Alexandria, VA. He also serves as President of Plexus' Homeland Security Operations. Mr. Walker joined Plexus in February 2001, following a 32-year career in the federal government. He was confirmed by the United States Senate four times to serve in senior executive branch positions and was the Acting Secretary of the Army in 1998.


Mr. Walker also served as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Logistics and Environment. He was the Army Acquisition Executive and the Under Secretary of the Army. Mr. Walker also served as Deputy Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and was an Under Secretary of Veterans Affairs when he retired from federal service.


Mr. Walker is co-author of "Preparing for the Revolution in Military Logistics", which established the Department of the Army’s transformation of business affairs in the late 1990s. He has received the Pentagon’s two highest awards for civilian service, the Department of Defense Distinguished Public Service Medal and the Department of the Army’s Distinguished Civilian Service Award. He also received the National Guard Bureau's Eagle Award.


Michael Duffy
Michael Duffy comes to Comark from HNTB Federal Services Corporation, where he served as Vice President – DoD Programs. With more than 27 years of experience in design and construction, Mr. Duffy has worked in numerous countries on several continents on a wide variety of commercial and governmental projects. His experience includes U.S. Army Corps of Engineers civil works and military projects and private sector work, where he provided design, design/build, and construction-related services.


Prior to Joining HNTB, Mr. Duffy was Director of Federal Programs at Leo A Daly and immediately prior he ran Leo A Daly’s international operations in Europe. As the Director of European operations he delivered more than 1,000,000 sf of facilities for clients including Boeing, British Aerospace, Repsol YPF, and other local Spanish clients. He also led the sustainable design practice at both firms. His experience includes commercial office, research and development, education, healthcare, aviation, transportation, security and sustainable design projects.
