The Carlyle Group Promotes 20 Professionals to Senior Positions

Washington, DC – Global private equity firm The Carlyle Group announced today that it has promoted 20 professionals to senior positions, three to Managing Director and 17 to Principal/Director. The individuals work in Carlyle’s offices around the globe conducting buyout, venture and growth capital, real estate and leveraged finance transactions, as well as accounting and investor relations activities.


Professionals promoted to Managing Director from Director/Principal are: Francis A. Finelli, Maki Mitsui and Todd Newnam. The new Principal/Directors promoted from Vice President/Associate Director are: Pam Bentley, John Bylin, Andrew Chung, Oussama Daher, Valeria Falcone, Caroline Goldsmith, Satoru Hayashi, Hayden Jones, Nigel Jones, Yong Kim, Shary Moalemzadeh, Bruno Mourgue D’Algue, Barbara Murphy, Christina Ng, Barbara Polito, Edward Samek and Arthur Torrey. (Principals and Directors are the same level in Carlyle parlance; Principal is the title used in the U.S. and Director is the title used in Europe and Asia.)


New Managing Directors:


Francis A. Finelli focuses on U.S. investment opportunities in the aerospace, defense, and security technology sectors and is based in Washington, DC.
Maki Mitsui focuses on investor relations and is based in Tokyo.
Todd Newnam focuses on U.S. buyout and growth equity investments in larger companies focused on software, semiconductors, electronic systems, and related distribution businesses. He is based in Charlotte.


New Principals/Directors:


Pam Bentley is the Corporate Controller and is based in Washington, DC.
Jonathan Bylin focuses on U.S. high yield opportunities and is based in New York.
Andrew Chung focuses on U.S. real estate acquisition opportunities and is based in New York.
Oussama Daher is the Financial Officer for European real estate investments and is based in Luxembourg.
Valeria Falcone focuses on European real estate opportunities and is based in Milan.
Caroline Goldsmith focuses on fund structuring and management in the European Leveraged Finance Group and is based in London.
Satoru Hayashi focuses on real estate opportunities in Japan and is based in Tokyo.
Hayden Jones focuses on U.S. real estate opportunities and is based in Washington, DC.
Nigel W. Jones focuses on U.S. buyout opportunities in the defense, aerospace, and government technical services sectors and is based in Washington, DC.
Yong Hyun Kim focuses on Asian buyout opportunities and is based in Seoul.
Shary Moalemzadeh focuses on distressed buyout and marketable securities opportunities and is based in New York
Bruno Mourgue D’Algue focuses on European growth capital and small buyout opportunities in the communications and technology sectors and is based in London.
