Beijing Carlyle Investment Center L.P. Registered at China’s National Development and Reform Commission

Beijing, China- Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group today announced that its RMB fund Beijing Carlyle Investment Center L.P. has registered at China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), becoming the first fund affiliated with a global investment firm to be registered at the NDRC. Beijing Carlyle Investment Center was established by Carlyle’s Asia buyout team in partnership with the Beijing Municipal Government. X.D. Yang, Managing Director of The Carlyle Group and Co-head of Carlyle Asia Partners, said, “Registration at the NDRC is a recognition of Carlyle’s brand, financial stability and localized operation. We expect that it will help us to strengthen our cooperation with large enterprises and institutional investors like the social security funds, and deepen and extend our fund-raising and investing capabilities in China.” According to the NDRC, China’s top planning body, locally set-up equity investment funds greater than RMB500 million are required to apply for registration at the NDRC in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province and Hubei Province. Equity investment funds that seek to manage social security funds are also required to be registered at the NDRC.
