Elmer Doty

Elmer Doty is an Operating Executive focused on the aerospace and defense and industrial sectors.

Previously, Mr. Doty has been President and Chief Operating Officer of Arconic, Inc a major producer of aluminum sheet and plate and precision castings and components for aerospace. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle portfolio company Accudyne Industries, a major producer of high-pressure pumps and compressors. Prior to that position, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle portfolio company Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., a leading aerostructures company. Prior to Vought, Mr. Doty was Executive Vice President of Carlyle portfolio company United Defense Industries, Inc. (now BAE Systems), where he led a division that produced and supported the majority of the U.S. military’s combat vehicles.

Mr. Doty has over 40 years of leadership experience in heavy industry, with General Electric, FMC Corporation, United Defense Industries, Inc., BAE Systems, Vought, Accudyne, and Arconic. He is presently a director of Arconic, Inc., LOC Performance LLC, Array LLC, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cooper Institute and a director of the Men of Nehemiah.

Mr. Doty earned a Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering and a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri, and has received Executive Education at Harvard Business School and University of Chicago.
