Dr. Stefan Weingartner
Dr. Stefan Weingartner is an Operating Executive focused on the aerospace, defense and government services sectors.
Throughout his career Dr. Weingartner has transformed aircraft engine and systems businesses into high-performance market leaders. Prior to his appointment to the Sequa Board of Directors in 2015, Dr. Weingartner was President of MTU Maintenance, a leadership role he held for eight years. He was instrumental in leading the organization to profitable growth, in addition to other significant business and technical achievements. During this time he also was a member of the Executive Board of MTU Aero Engines AG, an MDAX-listed (MTX) company.
Dr. Weingartner held the role of Senior Vice President, Defense Programs, at MTU Aero Engines GmbH. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director for MTU Turbomeca Rolls-Royce GmbH. Mr. Weingartner previously was President and Managing Director at EADS Japan Co. Ltd. (now Airbus Group), and held leadership roles with other aerospace companies, including Daimler Chrysler Aerospace in Japan.
Dr. Weingartner holds a master’s degree in physics from Munich Technical University, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, and a Doctorate in Engineering from the Munich Technical University. He is a past Board member of the German Aerospace Industries Association and American Chamber of Commerce in Germany.
