2011-020

Tokyo, Japan – Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group announced that it has successfully closed the acquisition of 95.56% of the outstanding shares of Tsubaki Nakashima Co., Ltd. from Nomura Principal Finance Co., Ltd. as scheduled. The deal was announced on March 1, 2011. Carlyle will provide its full support to promote the medium-to-long-term growth of Tsubaki Nakashima.

Mr. Tamotsu Adachi, Managing Director and Co-Head of Carlyle Japan Partners, said, “We are pleased to complete the acquisition with full cooperation from all involved parties, despite the difficulties following the recent earthquake. The earthquake will have a considerable impact on Japan as a whole, but we believe that Tsubaki Nakashima’s fundamental competitiveness will remain unaffected. We hope to contribute to the recovery of the Japanese economy through growing Tsubaki Nakashima’s business.”
