Matt Anderson
Matt Anderson is a Partner and the Chief Digital Officer at Carlyle, where he leads digital transformation, AI, and Data Science across the firm and Carlyle’s portfolio. He is actively involved with the firm’s investing activities through deal sourcing, due diligence, and value creation. Matt has played an instrumental role in shaping Carlyle’s future, leading initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science. This includes his work in developing cutting-edge AI capabilities and tools to support Carlyle's investment teams and portfolio companies. Matt has also led several balance sheet investments in AI companies for Carlyle and leads strategic digital partnerships with OpenAI and others, where he collaborates with senior leaders to drive innovation.
Prior to Carlyle, Matt served as President and Chief Digital Officer at Arrow Electronics. Prior to Arrow, he led Booz & Co’s eCommerce and digitization practice and developed its digital transformation agency model before developing a digital business at UK-based yellow page and internet services company Hibu, formerly Yell Group.
Frequently quoted in major media outlets like the WSJ, Wired, Forbes, and CNET, Matt is a recognized digital thought leader. During his career he has held various board appointments across Carlyle's portfolio.
Matt holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
