Robert Essner


Robert Essner is an Operating Executive focused on identifying and evaluating global investment opportunities in the healthcare sector.

Mr. Essner was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Wyeth, from which he retired in 2008. Mr. Essner worked for 32 years in the pharmaceutical industry and during that time served in many leadership roles, including Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA). He is Chairman of the not-for-profit Children's Health Fund and a Trustee of Mote Marine Laboratory. Mr Essner is Executive-in-Residence and Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School, where he teaches courses in Healthcare Management.

Mr. Essner received a Master's degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree from Miami University.

He is a member of the Boards for Carlyle portfolio companies, PPD and NBTY. He is also a member of the Boards for: Director of MassMutual and Amicus Therapeutics.
