Carlyle Names Michael Connelly Managing Director in Global Telecom & Media Group

New York, NY -- Global private equity firm The Carlyle Group today named Michael J. Connelly a managing director in the global telecommunications and media group. Mr. Connelly will begin this new position at Carlyle on December 2 and be based in New York City. In this position, Mr. Connelly will specialize in telecommunications and media company acquisitions.


Mr. Connelly comes to The Carlyle Group from Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was a managing director. Prior to that he was a managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1992.


James A. Attwood, Jr., managing director and head of Carlyle's global telecom and media group, said, “I am delighted that Michael has joined our team. Mr. Connelly, 50, earned his B.S. from Georgetown University and his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
