2003-11pc

Santa Clara, Calif. - April 2, 2003 - Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), the inventor of Invisalign(R), a proprietary method of straightening teeth without wires and brackets, today launched the Invisalign Online Clinical Education Center, a Web-based resource designed to help doctors achieve optimum treatment results with Invisalign.

The Online Clinical Education Center is designed to be a comprehensive source of clinical information and resources for Invisalign doctors. The Center (www.aligntechinstitute.com) illustrates the full range of cases that can be treated using Invisalign, and allows doctors to review diagnosis and treatment details for several case studies.

"Doctors want to see detailed case examples and treatment tips so that they can expand their Invisalign expertise and provide patients with the best possible results," said Dr. Ross Miller, chief clinical officer at Align. "This Website gives doctors access to the most current, practical clinical data in a 24/7 virtual environment that works with their busy schedules."

The Center's key features include:

  • In-depth Invisalign case studies broken down into Diagnosis, Treatment Planning, ClinCheck and Results sections. Cases include details on diagnosis and treatment, as well as comprehensive before/after records, clinical questions and comments, and interactive ClinCheck files.

  • A library of best-practice treatment tips and techniques, submitted by Align's clinical staff and practicing doctors around the world.

  • A complete catalogue of Invisalign clinical citations, published research, and Clinical Update, Align's quarterly clinical journal.

All case studies and tips are formatted for easy downloading and printing, so that doctors can build their own Invisalign reference guides. The Center Education Center is designed as a dynamic Website; content will be updated frequently to include new case studies, tips and techniques and research findings. Over time, the Center will be significantly expanded to include interactive educational tools and to serve as the hub for Invisalign clinical education.

The Online Clinical Education Center is the latest component in Align's clinical education initiative, which includes Invisalign Provider Workshops, held each month in cities across the U.S., Invisalign Certification Workshops, and the annual Invisalign Summit. More information on Align's clinical and continuing education events is available at www.aligntechinstitute.com.

About Align Technology, Inc.

Align Technology designs, manufactures and markets Invisalign, a proprietary method for treating malocclusion, or the misalignment of teeth. Invisalign corrects malocclusion using a series of clear, nearly invisible, removable appliances that gently move teeth to a desired final position. Because it does not rely on the use of metal or ceramic brackets and wires, Invisalign significantly reduces the aesthetic and other limitations associated with braces. Invisalign is appropriate for treating adults and older teens. Align Technology was founded in March 1997 and received FDA clearance to market Invisalign in 1998.
