NEW YORK - Global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) announced that it has named Ed Vilandrie, former Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Altman Vilandrie & Company (now Altman Solon), as an Operating Executive advisor for Carlyle’s Infrastructure Group. Vilandrie brings 25 years of experience in the digital infrastructure, telecommunications, media, and technology industries.

As an Operating Executive, Vilandrie will provide strategic guidance to Carlyle professionals throughout the investment process, from sourcing to acquisition, and advise portfolio company executives on management, operations and growth strategies. He joins a distinguished group of nearly 50 Carlyle Operating Executives, Senior Advisors, and Operating Advisors. Vilandrie will also continue to devote time to various roles outside of the firm.

Joshua Pang, Head of Digital Infrastructure for Carlyle’s Infrastructure Group, said, “Ed has been a leader in advising management teams, businesses, and investors since founding Altman Vilandrie, and has played a major role in transforming the digital infrastructure industry over the decades. I am excited to have him join us at a time when sector momentum is strong. I am confident that his insights and industry connections will bring value as we seek to identify compelling investment opportunities and build, grow and transform companies across digital infrastructure asset classes.”

Vilandrie said, “I am excited to partner with Carlyle’s world-class team of investors and look forward to  working with its portfolio companies and finding new investment opportunities to create long-term, sustainable growth.”

Vilandrie has advised many c-suite and senior TMT executives and investors within the digital infrastructure industry from a strategic, go-to-market, M&A, and business model perspective. Prior to Altman Vilandrie, he served as vice president at Cambridge Strategic Management Group.
