The Carlyle Group Closes Two CLOs in the U.S. and Europe

Third CLO in the U.S. in 2017 Totals $613 Million
and Second CLO in Europe in 2017 Totals €464 Million

New York, NY – Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) today announced the closing of two Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLOs) funds; one in the U.S. totaling approximately $613 million and one in Europe totaling approximately €464 million. The U.S. CLO, arranged by Morgan Stanley, is the firm’s third of 2017 in the United States. Carlyle US CLO 2017-3, Ltd will invest predominantly in senior secured leveraged loans. Carlyle Euro CLO 2017-2, arranged by Citigroup, is the firm’s second of 2017 in Europe. It has a four-year reinvestment period and two-year non-call period, with a final maturity in August 2030.

With these latest CLOs, Carlyle has now closed five CLOs globally in 2017 and its structured credit/CLO business now has approximately $20 billion in assets under management. Carlyle’s global credit businesses include: Loans & Structured Credit, Opportunistic Credit, Private Credit, Energy Credit and Distressed Credit. The global credit businesses have more than 100 investment professionals in New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, Hong Kong, and London.
