Michael Duke is an Operating Executive focused on the global consumer & retail sectors.
Mr. Duke joined Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in 1995, where he served as President and CEO from 2009 to 2014. From 2005 to 2009, he served as Vice Chairman with responsibility for Walmart International; previously, he led the logistics, distribution and administration divisions, as well as Walmart U.S. He continues to serve as a member of the Wal-Mart Board of Directors. Prior to joining Walmart, Mr. Duke had 23 years of experience in retailing with Federated Departments Stores and May Department Stores.
Mr. Duke is on the Executive Board of Conservation International’s Center for Environmental Leadership in Business. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc. and a member of the Board of Directors of Chick-fil-A. Previously, he served on the Board of Advisors for the University of Arkansas and the Advisory Board of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in Beijing. He is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Mr. Duke earned his B.S. in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
