Elmer L. Doty
Elmer Doty is an Operating Executive focused on the aerospace & defense and industrial sectors. He is based in Dallas, Texas.
Most recently, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle portfolio company Accudyne Industries, a global producer of high-pressure pumps and compressors. Previously he was President and Chief Executive Officer of former Carlyle porfolio company Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., a leading aerostructures company. Prior to Vought, Mr. Doty was Executive Vice President of Carlyle portfolio company United Defense Industries (now BAE Systems), where he led a division that produced and supported the majority of the U.S. military’s combat vehicles.
Mr. Doty has over forty years of leadership experience in heavy industry, with General Electric, FMC Corporation, United Defense, BAE Systems, Vought and Accudyne. He is a director of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cooper Institute, and a director of the Men of Nehemiah.
Mr. Doty earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri, and has received Executive Education at Harvard Business School and University of Chicago.
