Simon Robinson is an Associate Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Fund. He is based in London.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Robinson was a Managing Director at Longspur Capital. He joined Longspur Capital in 2018 and is a renewable energy sector specialist with over 12 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Longspur, Mr. Robinson founded and spent 6 years managing Snell Bridge, a specialist renewable energy corporate finance and M&A advisory firm based in Edinburgh. Snell Bridge assisted UK renewable energy developers and investors to buy, sell and finance assets including large- and small-scale wind projects, gas- and diesel-fueled peaking power assets, biomass projects and battery storage. In addition to its work for commercial clients, Snell Bridge was a delivery partner for the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Robinson worked in the renewable energy corporate and project finance advisory team at Quayle Munro in London and Edinburgh; the generalist corporate finance team at Bridgewell in London; and the natural resources corporate finance team at Rothschild in London.
Mr. Robinson earned his M.A. in physics from Balliol College, University of Oxford.
