Mat Feldman is a Managing Director of the Carlyle Credit Opportunities Fund. He is based in New York.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Feldman worked at Davidson Kempner Capital Management, one of the largest hedge funds globally with more than $25 billion of assets under management. During his six years at Davidson Kempner, Mr. Feldman was a senior member of the real estate business and deployed nearly $2 billion of capital across the United States and Europe. Mr. Feldman pioneered new areas of opportunity for the firm, including the acquisition of a regulated credit institution and purchasing more than $700 million of high yielding net lease assets. Before joining Davidson Kempner, Mr. Feldman was a Vice President at Square Mile Capital, where he spent four years investing in high yield debt and equity across commercial real estate.
Mr. Feldman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and received his law degree from the Boston University School of Law. During his third year of law school, Mr. Feldman was a visiting student at New York University Law School while also working as an analyst at Gramercy Capital Corporation (a then NYSE listed mortgage REIT). Mr. Feldman is a proud trustee of the Development School for Youth, which provides after-school education and internship opportunities to inner city youth across the country.
