Edson Peli is a Director advising on buyout investment opportunities primarily in Brazil and other selected South American countries. He is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Since joining Carlyle in 2008, Mr. Peli has been involved in investing & managing over US$1.5 billion of equity investments into the healthcare, consumer & retail and education sectors. He has been actively involved on Carlyle's investments in: private hospital network Rede D'Or São Luiz, healthcare benefits manager Qualicorp, casual dining & fast casual restaurant chain Madero, specialty toy & baby retailer Ri Happy PBKids, post-secondary education institution Uniasselvi, and travel operator CVC.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Peli worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse in Brazil, where he was involved in mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt offerings having participated in the closing of more than 30 transactions in several sectors, including 15 IPOs. Prior to that, Mr. Peli worked in credit risk at Citi in Brazil.
Mr. Peli received a BS in business administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas with a concentration in corporate finance & capital markets from the University of Texas at Austin.
