Robert Stuckey

Robert G. Stuckey is a Managing Director and the head of Carlyle’s U.S. real estate funds. He has held that position since joining the firm in 1998, and he has led the investing of CRP Fund I through Fund IX (the Carlyle U.S. opportunity fund series), and the investing of CPI (the open-end Core Plus fund). As such, he has had investment responsibility for over 1,000 investments in various Carlyle funds. At various times, he has also served on the firm’s management committee.

From September 2010 until December 2022, he was the Chairman of CoreSite, which was a NYSE-traded REIT that owned data center properties. Carlyle Funds organically created CoreSite and took it public in 2010, then remained a substantial shareholder until its ultimate sale. During its time as a public company, CoreSite produced the second highest total shareholder return among all public REITs. 

His awards include Top 100 New York’s Most Influential Real Estate Professionals. He is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Stuckey was Chief Investment Officer for CarrAmerica Realty Corporation. Prior to joining CarrAmerica, Mr. Stuckey was Senior Vice President of ProLogis (formerly Security Capital Industrial Trust). While at ProLogis, he held senior roles focusing on acquisition and development investments. Mr. Stuckey has also served as Chief Financial Officer for Trammell Crow Company, NE, the Northeast region of Trammell Crow Company. In addition, he was a member of Trammell Crow Ventures, a merchant banking affiliate to Trammell Crow Company.

Mr. Stuckey holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and was a two-time CoSIDA academic All-American at the University of Nebraska.
