The Carlyle Group Names Craig Farr Senior Advisor in Global Credit

Veteran Investor to Advise Carlyle’s Credit Businesses

New York, NY – Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) today announced that Craig J. Farr has been retained as a Senior Advisor consultant with the Global Credit group effective January 25, 2017.  Mr. Farr previously served as Global Head of Capital Markets and Credit at KKR.

As a Senior Advisor, Mr. Farr will help Carlyle in developing new strategic initiatives and partnerships across Carlyle’s credit platform, which includes loans and structured credit, private credit, energy credit and distressed credit. Mr. Farr will also continue to devote time to various roles outside of the firm.

Carlyle’s global credit platform resides within the Global Market Strategies segment, which had $34 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2016, and has investment professionals in New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, Hong Kong and London. Mr. Farr served as the Head of KKR Credit Advisors (US) LLC (KKR Asset Management, LLC) from 2013 to 2015 and served as a Member of KKR Asset Management, LLC. He joined KKR in 2006 and oversaw its capital markets and origination business, and drove the build-out of its structuring, capital markets advisory, distribution and credit origination resources. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of KKR Financial Holdings LLC from 2013 to 2014. He was previously with Citigroup, including 12 years at Citigroup Global Markets Holdings Inc. as Managing Director, Co-Head of North American Equity Capital Markets, and Head of U.S. Convertible and Corporate Equity Derivative Origination.

Mr. Farr began his career at Salomon Brothers in the investment banking division and has been a Director of Vanbridge Holdings LLC since 2016. Mr. Farr earned his Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
