Peter H. Nachtwey is a Managing Director and Carlyle's Chief Financial Officer, and serves on the firm’s Operating Committee. Mr. Nachtwey has overall responsibility for the firm's financial and investor reporting, internal controls, budgeting, treasury, IT and global facilities. He is based in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Nachtwey was a partner at Deloitte & Touche serving in various leadership roles. Most recently, he was the firm's lead partner on one of the firm’s largest alternative asset management clients and served as the Northeast Regional Managing Partner for the Investment Management industry. Prior to becoming a partner at Deloitte, Mr. Nachtwey spent two years overseas working for a U.S. defense contractor. He was recently appointed to serve on the newly formed Investor Advisory Group of The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
Mr. Nachtwey graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University. He was a CPA in Ohio from 2006 to 2008, in New York from 1997 to 2008, and in Maryland since 1982.
