Bader A. El-Jeaan is a Director and Fund Counsel in Carlyle's Middle East and North Africa (MENA) group, focused on buyout opportunities in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He is based in Dubai.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. El-Jeaan was Group General Counsel and a member of the Senior Management Board of Agility, a $5 billion company listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange and the Dubai Financial Market specializing in logistics and supply chain solutions.
From 1999-2003, Mr. El-Jeaan was a corporate attorney with Shearman & Sterling's Corporate Finance practice group, where he advised on a number of private mergers and acquisitions, registered and unregistered securities offerings, exchange offerings, consent solicitations and asset securitizations.
From 1995 to 1999, Mr. El-Jeaan worked for the Kuwait Investment Office (KIO) in London, where he managed the Government of Kuwait's private equity portfolio.
Mr. El-Jeaan received an A.B. with honors from Harvard College, and an M.A. with honors from Oxford University. He is admitted to the bars of New York and the District of Columbia.
