Firas Nasir is a Managing Director with the Middle East and North Africa fund, focusing on buyout and strategic minority investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, and Pakistan. Mr. Nasir is based in Dubai.
Since joining Carlyle in 2007, Mr. Nasir has been a member of the transaction team that executed Carlyle’s investment in General Lighting Company in which he has been actively involved.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Nasir was with Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and Palo Alto, and with UBS Investment Bank in San Francisco.
Mr. Nasir received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. from Columbia University in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Manufacturing and a B.S. from Rutgers University in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace.
Mr. Nasir is a Board Member of General Lighting Company.
