Yusuke Watanabe is a Vice President focused on buyout opportunities in Japan. Mr. Watanabe is based in Tokyo.
Since joining Carlyle in 2006, Mr. Watanabe has been actively involved with Carlyle’s investment in current portfolio company Covalent Materials Corporation. He was also involved in the transaction and monitoring of Carlyle’s investment in AvanStrate, Inc., and the transaction of Carlyle’s investment in Tsubaki Nakashima Co., Ltd.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Watanabe was a project manager at Mitsubishi Corporation involved in strategic investments and turnarounds in the chemical and food ingredients sector.
Mr. Watanabe received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He received a B.A. from Keio University majoring in economics.
Mr. Watanabe is an observer on the Board of Directors, and was previously on the Board of Directors of Covalent Materials Corporation.
