Yusuke Watanabe is a Senior Associate focused on buyout opportunities in Japan. He is based in Tokyo.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Watanabe was a project manager at Mitsubishi Corporation where he was a part of the turnaround team of the Life Science Products Unit. Mr. Watanabe was primarily responsible for reorganizing corporate structure, planning and implementing cost reduction programs, and leading a greenfield manufacturing investment in Thailand for Mitsubishi’s sweetener manufacturing subsidiary. While at Mitsubishi, Mr. Watanabe also worked on joint venture projects in the U.S. petrochemical industry and international trading of plastic resins.
Mr. Watanabe received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He received a B.A. from Keio University majoring in economics.
