Hiroshi Kawahara is a Managing Director with Japan Buyout, focusing on buyouts in the technology, media and telecom sectors. Mr. Kawahara is based in Tokyo.
Since joining Carlyle in 2006, Mr. Kawahara has been actively involved with Carlyle's investment in current portfoio companies, Quallicaps Group, AvanStrate Inc. and Broadleaf Co., Ltd..
Prior to joining Carlyle, he was with General Electric Japan and GE Equity in Tokyo. Prior to that, he was with J.P. Morgan Chase Investment Banking Group in Tokyo and the Long-term Credit bank of Japan in Tokyo and NY.
Mr. Kawahara graduated from Keio University majoring in economics. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the US and a Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant in Japan.
He serves on the Board of Directors of AvanStrate Inc. and Broadleaf Co., Ltd. and previously served on the Board of Directors of Quallicaps Group.
