Brian Canann is a Vice President focused on U.S. venture and growth capital opportunities in the medical device sector. He is based in Washington, DC.
Mr. Canann has 12 years of operating and venture capital experience with medical device companies. He joined Carlyle in 2004 from Medtronic, where he was the marketing lead for the Endeavor drug-eluting stent development program. Mr. Canann previously worked in the critical care division of Edwards Lifesciences in strategic planning and global product management. He was also a CPA in the Boston office of Price Waterhouse.
Mr. Canann is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Carefx Inc. and a Board Observer of AcuFocus, Inc., Cellutions, Inc., PixelOptics, Inc., Primary Health, Inc. and Endius, Inc. (sold to Zimmer, Inc.). He also serves on the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Industrial Advisory Board. Mr. Canann received an M.S. and B.S. in accounting from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
