Haruyasu Asakura is a Managing Director in the Asia Growth Capital Group. He also serves as head of the Japan Growth Capital team and is based in Tokyo.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Asakura was one of the founding partners of the private equity investment firm in Japan created as an affiliate of Apax Partners. In that role, he was responsible for growth capital and buyout investments in telecom and technology sectors. Prior to that, he spent more than 10 years at Mitsubishi Corporation, where he took various roles including business development, private equity investment, and corporate development mainly in IT, telecom, and healthcare services industries.
Mr. Asakura received his M.B.A. from Harvard University, BSEE from Keio University.
Mr. Asakura is a member of the Board of Directors of Nakaya Microdevices Ltd.
