Glenn A. Youngkin is a Managing Director in the Executive Group. Based in Washington, D.C., he chairs the firm’s Operating Committee, serves on the Executive Committee and serves as the Sector Chairman for Carlyle’s First-time and Emerging Market Funds which includes Carlyle’s Middle East & North Africa, South America, Infrastructure and Financial Services funds. From 2005 to early 2008, Mr. Youngkin was Global Head of the Industrial investment team. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Youngkin led Carlyle's buyout activities in the United Kingdom, and from 1995 to 2000 was part of the U.S. Buyout team.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Youngkin was a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company and prior to McKinsey, Mr. Youngkin worked in the investment banking group at CS First Boston.

Mr. Youngkin is a mechanical engineering graduate of Rice University and received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. Since 2007, he has been registered with FSA for CF30 controlled function.

Mr. Youngkin currently serves on the Board of Directors of Britax Childcare, Knight Holdings (Kinder Morgan), PQ Corporation and Veyance Technologies. Mr. Youngkin also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Norfolk Academy, The Langley School and AlphaUSA.
