Xiang-Dong (X.D.) Yang has been Managing Director and Co-Head of Carlyle Asia Partners ("CAP") since 2001. CAP has been investing in Asia for over a decade and is one of the largest private equity investors in Asia, manages Carlyle Asia Partners I, II and III funds and Carlyle Beijing RMB Fund. He is based in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Yang spent nine years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of private equity investment Asia ex-Japan.
Mr. Yang received his B.A. in economics from Harvard University and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is a native of China.
