Mr. Bernasek is a Principal focused on U.S. buyout opportunities in the automotive, transportation and logistics sectors. He has been integrally involved in several Carlyle investments including Allison Transmission, Inc., The Hertz Corporation, AxleTech International Holdings, Inc. and Rexnord Corporation. He is based in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Carlyle in 2000, Mr. Bernasek held a position in the Corporate Investment Area of Investcorp International, a private equity firm. Previously, he worked in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division where he executed corporate finance and acquisition-related transactions for clients across a broad range of industries.
Mr. Bernasek graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of Allison Transmission, Inc., The Hertz Corporation and AxleTech International Holdings, Inc.
