Sam (Trey) Block

Sam (Trey) Block is a Principal responsible for overseeing the administration of Carlyle’s Europe and Middle East North Africa buyout funds and Europe technology funds, including fund formation, tax structuring, financial reporting and investor relations. He is based in London.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Block was an Audit Senior Manager with Ernst & Young. Prior to that, he was an Audit Manager with Arthur Andersen. While in public accounting, he worked on a number of public companies in the Washington, D.C. area, particularly in the telecommunications industry.
Mr. Block graduated from Washington and Lee University with a B.S. degree in commerce and has been a CPA in the state of Virginia since 1996.
