Andreas Wesner is Head of Acquisitions (Germany) and focused on the acquisition of real estate and distressed opportunities in German speaking countries and Central Europe for Carlyle Europe Real Estate Partners III, L.P. Mr. Wesner is based in Munich.
Prior to joining The Carlyle Group, Mr. Wesner was a Vice President in Merrill Lynch's Global Principal Investments Group and executed real estate portfolio and distressed loan portfolio acquisitions. Prior to this, Mr. Wesner worked for Hudson Advisors Germany, a sister company of Lone Star Funds, as a Portfolio Manager of EUR 4.0 bn portfolio in distressed real estate loans.
Prior to this, Mr. Wesner spent three years with Lehman Brothers as an Analyst in the London based real estate team and the German M&A team, advising the privatisation of real estate companies and distressed investors. Overall he has more than 10 years of transaction and corporate finance related work experience.
Mr. Wesner received his M.S. in business management and a B.S. in business administration from the University of Muenster in Germany.
He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), registered with the FSA as investment advisor and holds a Certificate in International Fixed Income and Derivatives (IFID) from the International Capital Markets Association.
