Fernando Pinto is a Principal focused on buyout investment opportunities in Brazil and South America. He is based in São Paulo.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Pinto was an investment officer with Capital International Research Inc., in its private equity generalist fund focused on emerging markets. He was part of the team responsible for Latin America and he worked in transactions such as the leverage buyout of McDonald's operations in Latin America. He was based in London. Prior to that, Mr. Pinto worked in investment banking for over five years at Goldman Sachs & Co., in its New York and São Paulo offices, on the Healthcare and Latin America groups.
Mr. Pinto received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received a law degree from the University of São Paulo and he has a B.A. in public administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas.
