Janusz Guy is a Managing Director focused on investment opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe. He is based in Warsaw.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Guy was Managing Director at Spectra Holding, a privately held holding company with majority interests in large and prominent pharmaceutical companies in Poland and the CEE Region. Prior to Spectra Holding, Mr. Guy was Vice President of IVAX Pharmaceuticals, one of the largest generic pharmaceutical companies in the world. He was responsible for Central, Eastern & Southern Europe and all indirect markets globally. He was President and CEO of Polfa Kutno, a publicly held company in Poland, which he successfully restructured and merged with IVAX. Prior to that, he was with DIAGEO, where he was General Director of UDV business in Poland and also held a position of Global Brand Executive for SMIRNOFF Brand. Before DIAGEO, Mr. Guy was President and General Director of Benckiser NV, the leading global household chemicals producer, responsible for Russia and the former Soviet Union countries. He started his consumer goods career with The Coca-Cola Company, where his assignments included Commercial and General Director positions in Poland, and a Market Development Director position in Italy.
Mr. Guy earned his M.B.A. in international business from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also received a masters degree in engineering and architecture from Moscow University in Moscow, Russia. Additionally, he studies at the University of Houston, Rice University and University of Georgia and was a ull member of the Southern Center for International Studies in Atlanta, Georgia.
