Our Fund of Funds Solutions segment was established on July 1, 2011 when we completed our acquisition of a 60% equity interest in AlpInvest Partners BV.

Our Fund of Funds Solutions segment has three primary areas of focus:

• Fund investments. Certain of these funds make investment commitments directly to buyout, growth capital, venture and other alternative asset funds advised by other general partners (“portfolio funds”).
  
  
• Co-investments. Certain of these funds invest alongside other private equity and mezzanine funds in which it has a fund investment throughout Europe, North America and Asia.
• 
  
• Secondary investments. Certain of these funds acquire interests in portfolio funds in secondary market transactions.
