Carlyle Infrastructure Partners was established in March 2006 to make investments in both public and private infrastructure projects and businesses primarily in the United States and Canada. Private investment in public infrastructure is a proven model in the U.K., Europe and Asia and is beginning to be used in the U.S. and Canada.
The $ 1 Trillion Challenge
The need to invest in infrastructure in the U.S and Canada continues to grow with recent estimates topping the $1 trillion mark over the next five years for deferred maintenance and new construction. Private investment offers State and local governments another alternative to help meet these funding and operating demands, beyond the traditional means of raising funding through tax increases and bond issuances.
Partnering with Local Governments and Experienced Infrastructure Operators
Carlyle Infrastructure Partners is committed to developing true partnerships with both public and private operators of infrastructure assets. We look to bring much needed private capital and innovation to the delivery of public infrastructure, while maintaining effective government oversight and input. In the private sector the ability to be partners with recognized operators of infrastructure assets is the preferred approach for investments made by Carlyle Infrastructure Partners.
